Read on to discover some of our 2024 successes:

Business Transformation and Evolution

In June 2024, Reach Separations achieved a major milestone in its journey of growth when it was acquired by CatSci Ltd, an award-winning innovation partner for medicines development. This strategic move has ushered in a new era for Reach; joining forces with CatSci enables us to offer our customers seamless support and end-to-end coverage of the analytical development lifecycle. By integrating our advanced chromatography expertise with CatSci’s capabilities, we have created a comprehensive one-stop-shop for analysis and purification. This partnership ensures our customers now have a wealth of options and streamlined services to accelerate their molecule development journey.

Pioneering New Services

This year, we enhanced our chromatographic service offering. Offering new platforms that can deliver:

  • Oligonucleotide Purification

By applying Ion-pair Reverse Phase HPLC, we provide bespoke oligonucleotide purification services, tailored to deliver the highest purity at scales ranging from milligrams to 10’s of grams. Together with CatSci, we are advancing life-saving oligo development.

  • Peptide Purification

Leveraging HPLC and SFC, our team now offers peptide purification, further expanding our growth into new modalities to support a wider variety of therapeutic substances. From milligram to kilogram-scale, we support projects by delivering a fast and easy-to-engage service, maintaining transparency and meeting project goals.

  • PROTACs and bRo5 Expertise

We have continued to demonstrate our expertise in the PROTAC and bRo5 space, molecules which are often difficult to purify. By experimenting with both SFC and HPLC, we can offer a full package of purification and EPSA analysis.

  • Stability Testing

Our stability testing services provide critical insights into your compounds behaviour under a variety of stressed-conditions, with each study tailored to your project needs.

In collaboration with CatSci’s cGMP services, we ensure a comprehensive understanding of your drug substances.

Enhancing Our State-of-the-Art Labs

To meet growing demands, we made significant investments in our UK and France laboratories, adding:

  • 2 new Prep SFC systems
  • 3 new Prep HPLCs
  • 1 Flash LC system
  • 2 analytical SFC instruments

This new equipment strengthens our position. Increased instrument capacity enhances our ability to deliver speed and quality on projects

Reach Separations France

We celebrated two incredible years of our French laboratory in Strasbourg! In these two successful years, the lab has gone from strength to strength, with new equipment, enhanced analytical services, advanced purification projects, and a focus on our sustainability efforts.

Strasbourg also hosted two standout events: the inaugural EuroPrep and the “Journées Thématiques: Fluides Supercritiques – Parfums, Cosmétiques, Arômes,” solidifying its role as a hub of chromatographic innovation in Europe.

Growing Our Team

We proudly welcomed three new members to the Reach Separations team, including two in the UK and one in France. Their expertise enhances our ability to deliver exceptional services to our global customers.

Building Connections

This year, Reach Separations expanded our presence in the global industry, attending 17 conferences across the Europe and the United States. These events provided invaluable opportunities to connect with industry leaders and like-minded experts.

Sharing Scientific Expertise

At Reach Separation, we are passionate about giving back to the scientific community. We have presented 9 different talks and posters across the globe, highlighting our expertise in purification, separation science, and chromatography.

We also celebrated another successful PrepUK, an event which is always close to our hearts. Our own experts, Léa Sutton and David Leach, presented talks discussing the investigation of new modalities by SFC and a review of the Teledyne SFC, respectively.

We are grateful to all of our team, customers and peers for their continued support. We are looking forward to another prosperous year in 2025 and look forward to advancing purification science together!
